旧约）诗篇137

137:1 他们曾在巴比伦的河边坐下，一追想锡安就哭了。
By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, when we remembered Zion.
137:2 我们把琴挂在那里的柳树上。
We hanged our harps upon the willows in the midst thereof.
137:3 因为在那里，掳掠我们的要我们唱歌，抢夺我们的，要我们作乐，说，给我们唱一首锡安歌吧。
For there they that carried us away captive required of us a song; and they that wasted us required of us mirth, saying, Sing us one of the songs of Zion.
137:4 我们怎能在外邦唱耶和华的歌呢。
How shall we sing the LORD's song in a strange land?
137:5 耶路撒冷阿，我若忘记你，情愿我的右手忘记技巧。
If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning.
137:6 我若不记念你，若不看耶路撒冷过于我所最喜乐的，情愿我的舌头贴于上膛。
If I do not remember thee, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy.
137:7 耶路撒冷遭难的日子，以东人说，拆毁，拆毁，直拆到根基。耶和华阿求你记念这仇。
Remember, O LORD, the children of Edom in the day of Jerusalem; who said, Rase it, rase it, even to the foundation thereof.
137:8 将要被灭的巴比伦城阿（城原文是女子），报复你像你待我们的，那人便为有福。
O daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed; happy shall he be, that rewardeth thee as thou hast served us.
137:9 拿你的婴孩摔在磐石上的，那人便为有福。
Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.

诗篇137讲的是什么故事呢,实际上是以色列人的一段历史。锡安，耶路撒冷的一座山，是所罗门王是为神建造的圣殿之所在，常被用来作耶路撒冷城的别名。所罗门王是个极有智慧的王。然而 根据列王纪上的记载，他在统治后期受妃嫔的诱惑离弃神，行耶和华眼中看为恶的事，拜偶像在耶路撒冷对面的山上建邱坛，耶和华神向所罗门发怒，要在他儿子的日子将他的国夺回。所罗� ��去世后，他的儿子罗波安接续他作王的时期，北方的支派发生叛乱。这是南北国分裂之伊始。南国犹大，北国以色列。北国以色列不遵行耶和华神的诫命，行神眼中看为恶的事。在亚哈王� �后，北国的实力渐渐消退，据今人编纂的历史书所算出的时间，公元前722年，邻邦的亚述人拆毁了他们的都城撒玛利亚，以色列国消亡，以色列人被迫流离失所，渐渐与邻邦的民族融合。南 国犹大同样受到了亚述人的威胁，但由于亚述帝国的衰退，得以保持独立。南国犹大诸王在耶路撒冷作王，大多行神眼中为恶的事。不久巴比伦的迦勒底人兴起，消灭了亚述帝国，公元前586� ��，巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒率领全军来攻击耶路撒冷，捉住了犹大国王西底家，剜去他的眼睛，用铜链锁着，带到巴比伦去。许多上层人士也被迫流亡到巴比伦。因而就有了诗篇137章的咏叹。� �异乡的土地上，强敌要他们唱锡安歌作乐，犹大人懊悔流泪，这才想起回转求告神。

巴比伦河讲述的正是这个故事，这首歌曲经过改编已经变成了一首轻快流行的disco舞曲，与这段悲怆的形成了鲜明的对比！
